In business since 1996, the company took on the research functions of the University of British Columbia’s Applied Research and Evaluation Services (ARES) department in 2009 to become Verita Strategy Group Inc.
Verita provides assistance in research design, program evaluation, clinical trial applications (EDC), online examination applications, statistical analysis, employee engagement survey design and management, and a wide range of other data collection & data manipulation services.

Adam Hunter, B Eng, MBA
With a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA, and 35 years of computer programming experience, Adam Hunter brings an extensive mix of analytical and business-related skills to the firm. Primary duties involve project management, data analysis, technical reporting, programming, web page design and administration, business development, and a host of other responsibilities.
Adam has worked as an IT and research consultant and independent contractor since 1996 through his firm AG Hunter Enterprises Inc. Prior to that he held the position of Vice-President of Sales & Marketing for Innovative Waste Technologies, performed business and technical research work for the Canadian Manufacturers’ Association, and has worked outside of Canada in both Hong Kong and Japan.
G. William (Bill) Mercer, MES, PhD (Psychology)
From 2001 to 2009 Bill was the Director of the Research and Evaluation portion of UBC’s Applied Research and Evaluation Services (ARES) Department. When ARES ceased offering these services, he opened G.W. Mercer Consulting and became a Verita Associate.
Prior to that, he has been: Issue Manager of Impaired Driving Strategies (including the province-wide CounterAttack program) and Senior Policy Analyst in the Strategic Initiatives Department, both at the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia; Senior Policy Analyst, B.C. Police Commission; Research Director and Senior Analyst/ Manager, Police Services Branch; Director, Drinking-Driving Counterattack Program; and Senior Research Associate, Policy Planning Branch, all at the BC Ministry of Attorney General. He also taught psychology at a number of universities for about a decade.
Maureen is a senior human resources and communication consultant with over 20 years’ experience helping clients achieve their business and organizational objectives through their people. Maureen offers a unique skill set combining a deep content knowledge in human resources and employee engagement with expertise in strategic employee communication, change management and project management. Maureen is the recipient of several awards for communication and a frequent speaker on employee communication and engagement.
Bob Power, BA (Psychology), MSc (Organizational Psychology)
Bob has over 30 years experience working with national and international clients in areas relating to strategic change. He uses a wide range of tools to ensure that an organization’s strategy is supported by its predominant culture. Areas in which he has extensive experience are:

Bob has a BA in Psychology from the University of Manitoba, and an M Sc in Organizational Psychology from the University of Surrey in England. He has published two books, “Make Training Work” and Make Change Work”.
